FAQ1: 19 September, 1997

How do I install a Symicron X.25 card within a Windows NT 3.5.1/4.0 machine running UPTO 16Mb RAM ?

1.  Do Not attempt to alter any of the physical jumper settings.  It is recommended that you install the Symicron DTSX card at the default factory address of D0.
Dip switches 1, 2, 3, 4 and 7 should be set to the ON position. Dip switches 5, 6, and 8 should be set to off.

2.  Place the DTSX card into any available slot within your PC. Do Not force the card into the slot as this may well damage the edge connector.

3. Boot up your NT machine, select the control panel icon and then select the Network Icon.

4. Select Add Adapter

5. Select the Have Disk button

6. Insert the SymDriver-T disk 1 into the 3.5" floppy disk drive and click on O.K.

7. Follow the on screen instructions for installation and then configuration of the card. You may well need to reference your user manual at this stage.

8. At the end of this process you will be asked to restart your PC.

It is imperative that you restart the PC when asked to do so (Do not leave it until later). Failure to do so will mean that the installation will fail

9. If the card can still not be seen, check the address of the card or even change the address of both the card and in the software as you may have a conflict.
