Using fast ISDN connections the Internet Mail Gateway is the collection agent for all of your business e-mail. It is compatible with many SMTP hosts as well as standard POP3 Clients. The Internet Mail Gateway is fully TCP/IP compliant and becomes a transparent part of your network infrastructure.
The Internet Mail Gateway includes smart POP3<>SMTP translation as standard. This enable you to have all of your business e-mail through one low cost, or FREE, POP3 mailbox. Each incoming e-mail is processed by the Internet Mail Gateway and sent on to your SMTP mail server, where it is laced in the respective employee’s personal mailbox. 
It is also possible, by using Quick Connectä, for home or teleworkers to access their e-mail remotely, acting as if they were part of the office network.

The accompanying software comes complete with an installation wizard and a simple to use configuration utility.

The wizard, called Eze-Install, efficiently guides you through the software installation process. Simply answer a few questions and you are ready to configure your Internet Mail Gateway.

Configuration is achieved by filling in three property pages, with simple information. This then becomes you personal mail profile. This is saved as a file locally, to act as a backup and written to the memory of the Internet Mail Gateway.

After a re-boot the IMG is ready for use as a transparent network device. It will automatically poll specified mailboxes either at specified times or when the Internet is accessed.

The Internet Mail Gateway is a secure system. Firstly it does not allow incoming calls. It also has a Network Address Translation (NATS) feature that allows your LAN to be physically divorced from normal Internet Addressing Schemes. The configuration within the IMG can also be password protected to avoid misconfiguration.

Access to the internet can also be limited through the SEATS feature. This controls who can have access and who cannot.
