Symicron was founded in 1978 and became the first company in the world to sell an X.25 interface for personal computers. Whilst Symicron still retains a large customer base using this technology, recent advances, such as the Internet, have enabled Symicron to broaden its product portfolio. The company has also branched into related fields having now established itself as a quality bespoke system design and tailored equipment supplier. Its products are internationally certified and CE marked. The company attained full ISO9001 certification some years ago. The numerous divisions of the company embrace most aspects of the communications market for the millenium.

Symicron's client portfolio is prestigeous (see below) having supplied large populations of communications solutions designed and built by the company. In many instances one division has supplied the overall communication system design expertise, another has performed tailored software development for the project, whilst a third has supplied hardware for installation throughout the customer's estate. In some instances Symicron has commissioned its equipment directly into the field providing a full turnkey operation.

The company has expanded its headquarters across several business units in the Greenlane Industrial Park at Eltham, London. Less than 2 hours from France its European emphasis has also expanded with distributors acting for it throughout the EU.
